Brunei Darussalam celebrates Hari Raya Aidiladha with the resounding of Takbir at all mosques, surau and religious halls nationwide. The Aidiladha celebration began with the sunat Aidiladha prayer, 7th June morning. His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office joined the country's citizens and residents to perform the Sunat Aidiladha prayer at Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah, Kampung Kiarong.
Upon arrival, His Royal Highness was greeted by: Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris bin Pengiran Maharaja Lela Pengiran Muda Abdul Kahar, Chief of Adat Istiadat; Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs; Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Nazmi bin Haji Awang Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports; And, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.
Also in attendance was His Royal Highness the Crown Prince's brother, His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik.
The Sunat Aidiladha prayer was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar. Yang Arif Awang Haji Hassan bin Haji Metali, Syariah High Court Judge; in the first sermon, among other things, touched on the struggle for inheritance among family members. The second sermon explained that the rites of sacrifice establishes a spirit of cooperation and helping all parties.
Hari Raya Aidiladha elevates the meaning of loyalty, sincerity and sacrifice, as well as being an inspiration in the lives of the Muslim ummah.
